OK, today was interesting. I did something I’ve never done before. I lobbied members of the Washington State Legislature on behalf of the YMCA of Greater Seattle. What did that look like?

Now if I could just get a few earmarks or “special appropriations”…if you know what I mean.
For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been a volunteer at the YMCA for about 5 years now. I serve on the marketing committee for the YMCA administration, advising them on marketing for events, programs, fundraising, etc. Since I have a little time on my hands I’m also rewriting their emergency communications plan from top to bottom. It’s a great organization. Support the “Y” in your area.
They asked me to go to Olympia with them today because they suspected I would have no problem glad handing lawmakers and chatting them up about the Y and its issues. They know I love to chat. 😉
And yes, we’ve had a bit more snow here in Western Washington…but it’s going to melt tonight.
